A native of Connecticut, Karen has spent most of her teaching career in Lutheran schools in Iowa. In 2003, she left her mittens and snow shovel to become a Texan here in the Rio Grande Valley. Karen and her husband, Hank, enjoy traveling throughout the United States. Recently most of the traveling has been west to visit their son Peter in California. Karen has the best of all jobs-she enjoys all the creative energy of a classroom and daily has the opportunity to share her faith with students.
