Accelerated Reader

The Accelerated Reader program at The St. Paul Academy is a motivational tool to promote independent reading at all levels. Students select a book, read it, and take a computer test at the school over the literature. Points are assigned to each book based on the length and difficulty of the text. Each student earns points by answering at least 60% of the questions correctly. A cumulative point total is maintained during a student’s years at The Academy. Students will be issued “Book Bucks” for each point earned during a grading period. The "Book Bucks" may then be either saved or spent in the newly created "Accelerated Reader Store."

In the Spring of 2008, the program was upgraded to make all Accelerated Reader tests available to the students. Students, parents, and teachers can check to see if a book test is available by going to the following web site: www.arbookfind.com
